The fans of MTB will be delighted to discover the many tracks of Vercorin. Diversity is very impressive when following these routes. The panoramas are continuously changing. You will find below three proposals of paths for MTB.
A special map to the 1:40'000 of the Val d’Anniviers was made in order to make you easily discover the hundreds of kilometres for MTB in Vercorin and the Val d’Anniviers. On sale for CHF 16.00 at one of the seven Tourist Offices of the Sierre-Anniviers Vallee.

Cross Country Anniviard |

Route : Vercorin – Forêt du Ban – Plan des Morts – Les Giettes – Tracuit – Les Planards – Sigeroula – L’A de Bran – Forêt du Ban – Vercorin
Short description : Here is a perfect training for the MTB fans. The initial rise is very varied and the descent is rather appropriate for a forestry road.
Strong point : When arriving at Tracuit there is an unspoilable view to the bottom of the Valley of Anniviers.
Outdistance : 17.6 km.
Height difference: +720 m

Route : Crêt-du-Midi – Les Planards – Tracuit – Les Giettes – Plan des Morts – Forêt du Ban – Vercorin – Briey – Chippis – Chalais
Short description : This tour is a long descent which joins the top of Crêt-du-Midi to the Rhone plain. Nearly 2000 m downhill featured.
Strong point : Panoramic sight from the top of the Crêt-du-Midi.
Outdistance : 23.4 km
Height difference : +10/-1820 m

Tour in the Val d’Anniviers |

Route : Vercorin - Grimentz - Mottec - Ayer - St-Luc - Chandolin
Short description : Cycling around the Valley of Anniviers is the programme of this very sporting race. From Chandolin there is the possibility of joining the Rhone plain with the normal road.
Strong point : The crossing of most of the villages of the Valley of Anniviers will enable you to become familiar with the particular atmosphere of this part of Valais.
Outdistance : 40.7 km
Height difference : +1560/-900 m

Vercorin is lucky to have not only a cable lift to take you to the top of Crêt-du-Midi and equipped to transport bikes but also a cable-car which daily connects Vercorin to the plain in 7 minutes. These installations make the village of Vercorin unique and very attractive for all MTB cyclists who are eager to preserve the environment. |
