Dr. Salamin and Machoud Pharmacy |
|
Every tuesday from 8am to 9.30am, Dr. Salamin is available for consultation in the social medical centre of Vercorin (Tourist office Building). In case of need Machoud Farmacie will deliver from chalais via the cable car. The closest hospitals are in Sierre and Sion and medical centre «Le Forum » in Sion also offers an emergency service.

The post office is in the middle of the village, on the main road.
Opening hours Mon-Fri 8-11 am + 3-5.45 pm. As well as Sat 8-10.30 am.

The Raiffeisen Bank is in the big Margueron buidling on the road to Grimentz.
Opening hours :
Monday-Friday : 9am - 12pm / 2h15 pm - 5h15pm
Saturday : 9am- 12pm / or by appointment.
Also in the Raiffaisen Bank you will find an ATM (VISA, EC, Eurocard) available 24 hours a day, for cash in CHF or Euros.
A small Chalet housingBCV (Banque Cantonal du Valais) , right in the middle of the village open on wednesdays from 4-6pm and on saturdays from 9.30am-11.30am.

Situated in the Tourist Office complex, the village library is a great place to take the kids if it's raining. Cartoons, videos and DVDs are available. As well as books of course - some of them in
English! - and free internet access on a "First come first served" basis.

Laundry in the fontany building (BAT) |

If you don’t have any ways of doing the washing of your clothes and bedlinen, than Bernadette at the BAT (Bureau d’Affaires Touristique) will take care of it. The timetable and pricelist are available at BAT during normal working hours.
Monday to Saturday 8 am - 12 pm and 2 pm - 6 pm.
Closed on Sundays.

Ecology and recycling this should be in everyones heart, wheather local or visitor. In addition to the bins you will find in Vercorin, there is also a tip for other, bigger refuse. An attendant is available at the tip for advice. In principle this is a free service unless you have either large or very unusual quantities.

Lavioz Sports Centre |
|
Situated just above Vercorin in the ‘Creux de Lavioz’, the sports center is open to all. So you can take up your favourite sports.
In winter it hosts the snowgarden with gentle slopes and 2 skilifts. A natural skatingrink will alow you to perfect your skills or play ice-hockey. Don’ t forget too, sledging, or snowtubbing with giant rubber tyres.
In summer the various sport areas welcome football, tennis and petanque devotees. Whilst your children play or use the paddling pool you can relax on the sun terrace of the buvette with a fine local wine and local specialities.
The buvette offers internet access.
The buvette is open daily in the high season in summer and in winter from 9 am to 8 pm.

This hall is in frequent use for shows, concerts and seminars. On offer is a hall with tables, chairs (over 400), crockery etc. which is fully equiped for sound.

Espace Bozon |

Sports center in Chalais |

Opened in 2006, the centre is open to all.
It's name Bozon comes from the Bozon Tower in Chalais where a wealhty landowner of the same name used to live.
The buvette is open Wednesday till Sunday from 11 AM.
Nanette en Olivier offer lamb, pork and sausage grills and various salads, with a large selection of non-alcoholic drinks and St Matthieu cellar wines plus draught beer.
The play area, ping pong tables, petanque, beachball, volleyball, football and baskettball are on a "first come first served" basis. Rackets are available and it is also possible to hire tenniscourts (managed by the buvette) and to reserve football pitches through F.C. Chalais. To rent the Fishermans shelter as well as the communal shelter, please contact Christian Pellat. Each can accomodate 50 people and have gas gas cookers, electricitiy + WC.
