Edouard Vallet Foundation
Vercorin - In June 2013, the house where Edouard Vallet used to live was transformed into an art gallery and museum dedicated to this renowned artist.
The house where Edouard Vallet stayed has become a museum dedicated, mainly, to this renowned artist where, every summer, an exhibition related to Edouard Vallet is presented.
It was acquired by the painter in 1912 and he lived here until 1928. The first paintings and engravings that used Vercorin and the surrounding area as a backdrop date from 1913. The village and its region never ceased to inspire the painter right up to 1928.
The aim is to use, promote, conserve, renovate and maintain the house and garden of the artist Edouard Vallet.
- To establish a museum together with exhibition halls and reception rooms. To present and exhibit his furniture and objets d’art for artistic, cultural, scientific and public relations purposes.
- To raise awareness of the artist Edouard Vallet, as well as his first wife, the artist Marguerite Vallet-Gilliard, and their works, by organising exhibitions and conferences, through publications and by all other means.
- To organise permanent and temporary exhibitions, as well as seminars and conferences on different artists and personalities; to acquire, exchange and sell all works by the artists; to cooperate with other institutions in the short-term or long-term lending or exchanging of works.
