Soviet Art / Vercorin
Soviet Art 1973 - 1985 by Boris
Presented by the Galerie Martin Granberger and with the collaboration of the Bureau d'Affaires Touristiques SA
The works currently presented at the Galerie Martin Granberger in Vercorin, were part of the exhibition presented by the Gummeson Gallery in Stockholm in 1986 "Konstructivism da och nu" which aimed to highlight the work of two Russian artists: Boris (1943 - ? ) and Garry Faif (1942 - 2002).
Among the works exhibited, three works by Boris are dated 1972 and 1982, a gap of ten years. This can be explained by the fact that the author was sentenced to two years in prison and 5 years of internal exile, and then on his release he wanted to recreate the work that had led him to prison.
This was to be seen as an act of ultimate resistance. In the exhibition at the Galerie Martin Granberger, a series of postcards made by Boris for Amnesty International in 1985 are also on display.
