The flock of sheep will return to the valley on Saturday, October 3

20 June 2026

On Saturday, October 3, the flock of sheep currently located near La Rauje will make its way back down to the valley.

Update 10/3: They will leave the mountain peaks around 7–8 a.m. and arrive in the village around 10–11 a.m. They will not be accompanied by guard dogs. Please do not walk through the flock as it passes and do not approach them with dogs. Traffic on the road between Chippis-Briey and Vercorin may be disrupted due to their passage. Thank you for your understanding.

In the meantime, take a moment to find out where the flock of sheep and the patous are located, as well as some important tips, before heading out for a walk.

During the cable car’s operating hours (9am–5pm), the flock of sheep and the guard dogs are at La Rauje (Orzival).

They make a return journey from La Rauje to Brentaz and back between 6am and 10am, and in the evening between 4pm and 9pm.

The route from La Brentaz to Orzival via the ridges, as well as the road between Tracui and Orzival, are not recommended for walkers with dogs.

Further information and guidance on how to behave can be found in the document and via the link below.

Thank you for your understanding!
