Breakdown - Chalais-Vercorin cable car

Following the failure of part of the cable car motor on Saturday, October 25, operations were suspended and a bus service was put in place.

The week of October 27 was used by our technicians and external contractors to diagnose the damage to the motor and estimate the repair time.

Today, October 31, 2025, we can announce that it will take another five weeks before normal operations resume.

During this period, the bus service will continue to run from Monday to Friday, at the same times as those established since October 25, 2025. These are posted on our website at www.vercorin.ch/tele, on our social media accounts, and at all public transportation access points between Chalais and Vercorin. Regular bus service is operating as usual, and schedules can be found at www.cff.ch.

We are aware of the inconvenience caused by this incident, but would like to confirm that everything is being done to ensure the safety of our customers.

Furthermore, we can also confirm that the technical file for the new cable car is progressing and that, barring any appeals from opponents, work could begin in the second half of 2026.
