Green waste collection point

The Commune of Chalais is pleased to announce the opening of a green waste processing center in Vercorin, which will replace the old waste collection center.

Waste collection centres:
The Uvrier and Chétroz (Sierre) waste collection centres are open to residents of Chalais, Réchy, Briey and Vercorin. Anyone can access the two collection points on presentation of a valid access card.

Opening hours from 1 April to 15 November: Monday to Friday 4pm - 6pm; Saturday 1pm - 3pm; Bank holidays closed.

Gatrovert:
Gatrovert makes an effective contribution to reducing the contents of taxed bags and enables food waste to be recycled in the most environmentally-friendly way possible.

Food scraps can only be collected using the bags provided at the collection points:
- Place de Praniviers in Réchy
- Place des Chevaliers in Chalais
- Ecopoint de Briey in Chippis
- Ecopoint in Vercorin
- Parking des Avouintsettes, Vercorin

Ecopoints
Ecopoints or collection points are designed to receive the most common types of recyclable waste (glass, PET, paper, aluminium and tinplate) and are generally available to residents at all times.

Ecopoint opening times:
-Chalais and Réchy: Monday to Friday 7am to 9pm; Saturday 8am to 8pm; Sundays and public holidays closed.
-Briey and Vercorin: Monday to Friday 7am to 9pm; Saturday 8am to 8pm; Sunday and public holidays 8am to 8pm.

Refuse accepted:
-Réchy: household waste, paper and cardboard, glass, aluminium and tinplate, batteries, clothes and fabrics, PET, Nespresso capsules.
-Chalais: paper and cardboard, glass, aluminium and tinplate, batteries, PET, Nespresso capsules.
-Briey: household waste, paper and cardboard, glass, aluminium and tinplate, batteries, PET, Nespresso capsules.
-Vercorin, route de Chalais: household waste, paper and cardboard, glass, aluminium and tinplate, batteries, clothes and fabrics, PET, Nespresso capsules. Gatrovert
-Vercorin, place de la télécabine: household rubbish, paper and cardboard, glass, aluminium and tinplate, PET.

Christmas trees should be deposited in front of the moloks.

Thanks to this center, residents and second-home owners of Vercorin and the surrounding area will be able to dispose of their green waste in complete safety, thereby contributing to the preservation of the environment.
The waste will be sorted, composted and transformed into organic matter, which can then be used as a natural fertilizer.
