Sérénade Vallet-Rilke

To mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of the painter Édouard Vallet and the 100th anniversary of the death of the poet Rainer Maria Rilke, Sérénade presents a tribute combining poetry, music and the visual arts.

As part of the double anniversary celebrating the Valais-born painter Édouard Vallet (1876–1929) and the poet Rainer Maria Rilke (1875–1926), Sérénade invites the audience on a sensory journey where painting, literature and music intertwine.

Conceived by Patrick Crispini, this performance weaves a dialogue between the works of these two great artistic figures through an original libretto, readings and musical interpretations. The narrator, Brigitte Balleys, is accompanied by Marie Sirot on the violin, Jacques Tchamkerten on the ondes Martenot and piano, and Patrick Crispini on the piano and as narrator.

This evening offers an immersive cultural experience, where poetry and music extend the pictorial world of Édouard Vallet and the work of Rainer Maria Rilke.
