The Voualans path starts at Vercorin and descends into the Crouja valley. It leads to the refreshment hut and the Voualans shelter, crosses the hamlet of the same name composed of 19 largely dilapidated buildings then takes a part of the bisse des Sarrasins renovated in 2014. Themes related to the former vocation of the site are addressed: the buildings, the crops, the forest, water.
The Voualans Site
Fodder and crops were not lacking, but access routes and water needs were the main difficulties to master on these lands. Left abandoned for more than 50 years, a large part of the crops was invaded by the forest. Some buildings have been renovated to enhance the site with an agro-tourism vocation.
The Voualans area is very popular with ungulates. Deer, roe deer, and chamois can be commonly observed.
OUR ADVICE
A small game allows children (> 10 years) to sharpen their observation and deduction skills (take a small piece of paper and a pencil with you).
| Useful information | Start from the Vercorin kiosk, take the Tour du Mont path on the right, at the fork choose the right path and follow the signs to the bisse des Sarrasins. |
