From Chalais to the chalets ... passing through LES VOUALANS

The Voualans trail starts at Vercorin and descends into the Crouja valley. It leads to the refreshment bar and the Voualans lodge, crosses the hamlet of the same name consisting of 19 buildings mostly in ruins, then follows part of the bisse des Sarrasins renovated in 2014. Themes related to the former purpose of the site are addressed: building, crops, forest, water.
The Voualans Site
Fodder and crops were not lacking, but access routes and water needs were the main difficulties to master on these lands. Left abandoned for more than 50 years, a good part of the crops have been overrun by the forest. Some buildings have been renovated to enhance the site with an agro-touristic purpose.
The Voualans area is greatly appreciated by ungulates. Deer, roe deer, and chamois can be commonly observed.

OUR ADVICE
A small game allows children ( > 10 years) to sharpen their observation and deduction skills (take a small paper and pencil with you).
