In order to be able to print his engravings himself during his stays in Vercorin, Edouard Vallet ordered a press from Calmels in Paris. It was transported by train to Sierre station, then carried by mule to his house in Vercorin.
This press enabled both Edouard and Marguerite to experiment with all manner of engraving techniques: etching, intaglio, drypoint, etc.
It was in the art of engraving that Edouard Vallet’s talent was recognised and celebrated.
