It's all a matter of perspective - step 5

Lagettes Fountain – a reflection of truth

Hint:

Sometimes you can see better upside down than right side up.

Did you know?

Calm water acts as a natural mirror. When light hits its surface, it bounces back at the exact angle at which it arrived, according to the law of reflection. Your eye therefore sees an inverted image of the world. In the past, locals said that the fountain showed the true face of the sky.

Question:

Why do mountains appear upside down when reflected in water?

A)     Because light bounces symmetrically off the surface (U)
B)     Because it looks prettier (O)
C)     Because the air distorts the landscape (N)
D)     Because water reverses the magnetic field (D)
