CORRESPONDANCE

Through Correspondance, poet Emile Gardaz questions our practice of letter-writing, supported by the music of Jean-François Michel.

The thread that runs through this musical show is the bracelet, drawn on the logo, which represents the unwavering attachment of Valais emigrants in Argentina to their home canton. Mothers passed it on to their daughters so that they would remember. We have joined this chain of memories. Around the person of Etienne Benjamin Perruchoud, who left Chalais in 1873 for the province of Entre Rios, we will evoke letters sent from the pampas to relatives left behind in the Alps. They reveal enterprising men and women, tenacious in the face of difficulties. They contributed to the development of their adopted country, putting down roots that were part of the soul of the Valais.
