Women in the spotlight - step 1

Parc à moutons (Sheep park)

In those days, the animals were herded into the sheep pen for the night. That way, they were protected from the weather and the wolf!

In mountain villages, domestic wool processing has always been carried out by women. These women were the spinners and weavers. From the 20th century onwards, spinning was no longer a simple hobby, but a real means of earning money to ensure the family's well-being and, of course, improve daily life. Spinning benefited the women of mountain villages, pushing them towards emancipation and independence.
