Marguerite and Edouard made a habit of visiting Vercorin every summer to enjoy the scenery and nature that inspired them so much. The family grew, first with the arrival of Liliane in 1914 and then Andrée in 1918.
The magnificent Courten mansion could not fail to inspire them. Edouard’s works feature numerous sketches and paintings depicting it.
This house was built by Count Ignace Antoine Pancrace de Courten in 1777, and the small adjoining chapel dedicated to Saint Louis dates from 1784.
